SUBSTANCE: before and 2 hours after intake of agonists of central I₁-imidazoline receptors in minimal effective dosage, vasculomotor component of cardiopulmonary baroreflex (VC CPBR) is tested by evaluating dynamics of space velocity of skin-muscular blood flow during deactivation of baroreceptors of low-pressure zones by decompressing the lower part of the body in a special chamber with evacuation - 10 mm hg. If vasculomotor component of cardiopulmonary baroreflex increases or stays the same 2 hours after taking the drug, prolonged antihypertensive therapy with agonists of imidazoline receptors is effective in more than 90% of patients. If the vasculomotor component falls, antihypertensive effectiveness of this medicinal group is insufficient.

EFFECT: wider arsenal of means of predicting effectiveness of treating arterial hypertension with selective agonists of central I₁-imidazoline receptors.
