FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, namely to blast-furnace production. The blast furnace contains the refractory bottom and chimney with taps for tapping of cast iron and slag, blower nozzles, vertical refractory projection positioned in the center of the chimney. The lower part of the projection is made as a cylindric base and it rests on the bottom of sump of the chimney and the upper part is made as a cone. The top of the cone is at the level of the axis of the blower nozzles with the diametre of the cylinderic base equals dheight =(0.1-0.2)dc, and the cone height is hheight=0.2 dc, where dc is the chimney diametre. The refractory projection is made demountable with the upper part of the cone made multilayer and the lower part as a cylinderic base made solid. The cone is made of refractory with a small quantity of adhesion relative to refractory substances, for instance titanium carbonitride.
EFFECT: improved technical-economic indicators of the furnace and prevention of possible dangerous emergency situations.
