METHOD OF MONITORING INSULIN THERAPY OF DIABETES Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B5/1468

Abstract RU 2368312 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, in particular to methods and means of insulin therapy of patients with diabetes. Monitoring of insulin therapy of diabetes is carried out, based on optical and/or electrochemical measurements of characteristics if testes, for instance subcutaneous medium or whole blood. Periodically control doses of (ultra) short insulin in places of measurements are introduced and difference in measurement results, occurring after each insulin dose, is used to determine current level of glucose at given interval of measurements. Insulin is introduced by means of insulin pump with programmed control through cannula, which is fixed with plaster on patient's body, near the place of injection introduction glucose-sensitive elements of measurements are placed. Insulin is introduced through intra-dermal port of one or another construction and additionally through intra-dermal port into subcutaneous medium periodically electrochemical glucose-sensitive sensor (electrode) is immersed. During breaks between measurements pump insulin administration is carried out, for instance in basal mode by doctor administration.

EFFECT: claimed scheme does not require blood sampling and successfully combines with modern systems of pump diabetes therapy from leading world producers of medical equipment of given area ("Medtronic", "NIKKISO", "Rosh-diagnostics").
