FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: semiconductor modulator of optical radiation with functions of photoconverter comprises optical element, for instance from electro-optical material, semiconductor plate with through channels and p-n transitions, arranged as flat and / or planar and exiting to side surface of channels. In channels, also arranged under inclination to plane of semiconductor plate and crossing with each other, there is one or several optical elements optically connected to light guides, for instance fibre optic ones, which vary their optical characteristics under action of electric field created by p-n transitions depending on amplitude and frequency of supply voltage.
EFFECT: possibility of optical systems integration with semiconductor instruments, both in part of optical signal modulation by electric field of p-n transitions, and in part of optical radiation control by semiconductor instruments by means of direct action at p-n transition.
