FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: atom-beam tubes on caesium or rubidium serve as quantum frequency discriminators, use of which allows for generation of extremely accurate frequency signals. The atom-beam tube has a vacuum chamber 1, in which there are: source 2 of caesium or rubidium atomic beams, first and second atomic state selectors 3, microwave resonator 4, display device 5, ioniser 6, mass-spectrometre 7, magnetic-discharge pump 8, collector 9. Along the transmission path of the beam there are compact getters 10, for example made from graphite, and film-type getters 11, made from aquadag, for example. The display device 5 also contains at least one additional getter 12, which is porous and is made from active metals or their mixture. Its porous surface is coated with a graphite film with micron or submicron thickness. The additional porous getter 12 can also be fitted in the atomic beam source, microwave resonator, first and/or second atomic state selectors, at the edges of the first and/or second atomic state selector, at the input of the first and/or second atomic state selector, at the output of the first and/or second atomic state selector.
EFFECT: high vacuum during operation or storage of the atom-beam tube, longer service life of the device.
