FIELD: ion optics; quantum frequency discriminators using atomic beams, such as cesium atomic-beam tubes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed atomic beam indicating device has thermal atom ionizer 1 disposed in volumetric focusing electrode 2 with diaphragm 5 for atomic beam 9 and with diaphragm 6 for ion beam 10. Collector 3 with lead 8 is disposed in compartment accommodating diaphragm 7 of atomic-beam tube envelope 4 and is designed to accumulate ions moving perpendicular to atomic beam motion. Ionizer and focusing electrode are placed at electrical potentials positive relative to ground.
EFFECT: reduced photocurrent level at high ion accumulation coefficient.
