FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: according to invention there is composed package for explosion welding out of layers of aluminium and titanium with ratio of layer thickness 1:(2-8) at aluminium layer thickness 1-1.5 mm. Further a charge of explosion substance (ES) is located on surface of the package and explosion welding is performed at rate of detonation 1760-2700 m/sec. Height of the charge and a welding gap between plates of the package is chosen with the object of achieving rate of collision at welding within the range of 550-650 m/sec. Upon welding the package is subject to annealing by heating to temperature exceeding temperature of aluminium melting at 90-100°C during 1.5-3 hours; thus continuous inter-metallic layer is formed between layers of aluminium. Then the package is crimped with steel puncheons to complete removal of aluminium layer residues off surface of inter-metallic layer. Produced blank is heated to temperature 730-740°C, conditioned within 0.2-0.3 hours and is subject to accelerated cooling between metal plates with high heat conductivity, there through producing inter-metallic coating of high hardness on surface of titanium plate.
EFFECT: produced wear resistant inter-metallic coating on titanium plate possesses considerable thickness and high hardness at high rate of its thickness growth.
