FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine production, particularly to automotive control unit and to ICE power output control. In compliance with first version, automotive control unit comprises hydraulic torque converter arranged between ICE and transmission. Aforesaid control unit comprises output power converter to vary ICE output, RPM ratio transducer to determine input shaft RPM vs hydraulic torque converter output shaft RPM, and controller to calculate first coefficient of ICE designed output from ratio variation value determined by aforesaid transducer and to control output converter in compliance with aforesaid first coefficient of designed output variation. In compliance with second version, automotive control unit comprises hydraulic torque converter arranged between ICE and transmission. Aforesaid control unit comprises output power converter to vary ICE output, RPM ratio transducer to determine input shaft RPM vs hydraulic torque converter output shaft RPM, and controller to calculate first coefficient of ICE designed output from ratio variation value determined by aforesaid transducer and to control output converter in compliance with aforesaid first coefficient of designed output variation.

EFFECT: reduced impact load, control over engine output power.
