FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detecting ionising radiations. The detector has an electronic circuit with amplifier-discriminators, on one scintillator plate there is a light-reemitting fibre in form of a loop, the ends of which are brought to one of the faces of the plate, at least one end of the light-reemitting fibre is connected a photodiode. Photodiodes are connected to a coincidence circuit. The detector is twinned and is symmetrical about the light-reemitting fibre. The detector is twinned and symmetrical about a light-reflecting partition. The detector has an additional scintillator plate for detecting slow neutrons. The detector is made in form of a multilayer unit from two plate-like detectors with light-reemitting fibre, separated by the light-reflecting partition. The detector is made in form of a multilayer unit from twinned detectors, symmetrical about the switching fibre and separated by the light-reemitting partition.
EFFECT: simpler design, increased efficiency of detecting radiation, wider range of detection, possibility of express analysis.
