SCINTILLATION DETECTOR Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G01T1/20

Abstract RU 2444762 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the scintillation detector, each radiation converter is optically insulated from neighbouring converters by a cellular structure with light-reflecting walls. Light-reemitting fibres coated with light-reflecting material pass through the edge of the cellular structure in the region of the geometric centre of the converters. The cells of the structure are filled with liquid scintillator, and there is a hole in the housing of the detector for filling the scintillator and there is a pressure release valve.

EFFECT: high efficiency of detecting fast neutrons and gamma-ray quanta during operation in composite neutron-gamma radiation fields.
