FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmology, and is intended for evaluation of vision acuity in small children. Optotypes in form of volumetric rings of red colour with different size and from different distance are shown to child. Distinguishing of ring with diametre 181.9 mm and 36.4 mm thick from 5 m corresponds to vision acuity 0.04; distinguishing of ring with diametre 121.3 mm and 24.3 mm thick corresponds to vision acuity 0.06; of ring with diametre 91.0 mm and 18.2 mm thick corresponds to vision acuity 0.08; if rings of the same size are distinguished from distance 2.5 m - vision acuity respectively is two times lower.
EFFECT: method allows to increase accuracy of evaluation.
