FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves pulsed thermal action on the flat surface of an analysed sample and measurement of excess temperature of the sample in one point in a given time interval. Pulsed thermal action is achieved by using radiant heat flux with known density and duration, and measurement of excess temperature from the moment the heat pulse is applied is carried out in the centre part of the heated surface of the sample. The value of maximum excess temperature is recorded as well as the time at which it is achieved. For this thermal process, a mathematical model of the direct thermal conductivity problem based on the finite difference method is employed, and the inverse coefficient heat conduction problem is solved using a variation method on the excess temperature observation interval.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining the system of thermophysical properties of solid materials.
