METHOD FOR CUTTING OF COMPOSITE PRODUCTS OF CIRCULAR SHAPE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B29B17/00 

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to processing of polymer composite products of circular shape, for instance worn-out and out-of-spec metal-cord tyres, their parts (frame-breaker-tread band) and other reinforced shells. Cutting is carried out with two disk knives, which are coaxially arranged on single shaft and at the distance between them that exceeds width of frame-breaker-tread band, but is less than distance between bead rings. Product is coaxially installed onto support roller until disk knives and support roller engage with each other, as a result bead rings are simultaneously cut from the product. After punching of both knives through product wall till their contact with internal facets of roller annular grooves, further slipping of annular product by one complete turn, part of tyre that remained between knives is cut along spiral into narrow tape. Cutting is carried out due to diversion of one of knives from support roller and feeding of remaining part of product into zone of cutting of the second non-diverged knife so that its one edge at the angle to axis of roller rotation enters zone of cutting of non-diverged knife, and the second edge freely passes through gap between diverged second knife and support roller.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to feed tyre to zone of cutting together with bead parts and to simultaneously cut both bead parts and further cutting of remaining frame-breaker-tread band along spiral into narrow tape.
