FIELD: nuclear physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of operating nuclear reactors and particularly to restoration of telescopic joints the channel of a fuel cell of a uranium-graphite reactor and is meant for use during repair. In the method of restoring telescopic joints of channels of fuel cells of a nuclear uranium-graphite reactor, which contain an upper pipe channel and a connection pipe, fixed to the upper shielding plate of the graphite stack by placing a support pad-compensator between the upper shielding plate and the graphite stack, where the support pad-compensator is made from segment elements, the value of the working stroke of telescopic joints of all channels of the fuel cells are measured and segment elements of the support pad-compensator are placed into the channel of the fuel cell where the value of the working stroke of the telescopic joint reached 15 to 20 mm.

EFFECT: increased technological effectiveness, reduce labour input when restoring a telescopic joint of a channel of a fuel cell of a uranium-graphite reactor.
