FIELD: heating systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of lime from low-grade limestone, and besides in metallurgy for reducing firing of iron-ore concentrates and other materials, for calcinating and drying loose building materials, for drying loose food materials, for drying various crops, for coal drying, including in coke-chemical branch, etc. Method involves heat treatment in conditions of continuous zigzag-shaped pouring of flow of treated material, which is provided with inclined flanges mounted in shaft on two opposite walls alternating as to height in staggered order at an angle of natural slope of treated loose material. Heat treatment is performed with gaseous products directed to material flow surface located under the pouring flange and formed due to its natural slope angle. Material which passed through heat treatment and is available on the pouring flange is subject to air jet cooling.

EFFECT: providing uniform heat treatment and controllability of heat treatment process at any stage, decreasing specific fuel rate.
