FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method is described for preparing a copper-cerium oxide catalyst for purifying gas mixtures from CO, in which catalyst synthesis takes place through synthesis of a polymer precursor where copper and cerium salts are used, as well as citric acid and ethylene glycol with subsequent thermal treatment. Also described is a method of purifying gas mixtures from carbon oxide by oxidising carbon oxide with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst at temperature not below 20°C and pressure not below 0.1 atm, in which the catalyst used is prepared using the method described above.
EFFECT: simplification of the method of preparing active catalysts while preserving their high activity.
