FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical power engineering, and specifically to devices for direct conversion of chemical energy of hydrogen-containing fuel to electrical energy, particularly to a fuel cell electrode which is made from a plate (1) of monocrystalline silicon with orientation (110). On one side of the plate (1) there are equidistant gas-intake grooves (2) which pass parallel to plane (111). On the other side of the plate (1) there is grid made from equidistant gas-distribution slit-type channels (3) which are linked to the gas-intake grooves (2). The axis (4-4) of the gas-intake grooves (2) and the axis (5-5) of the gas-distribution slit-type channels (3) lie at an angle of 70°-71° relative each other.

EFFECT: increased "porosity" of the electrode with reduction of the lattice constant of gas-distribution channels, as well as provision for more efficient use of area of the electrodes while maintaining the required mechanical strength.
