METHOD OF DIAGNOSING DELAYED TOXIC ENCEPHALOPATHY IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2383060 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to experimental medicine. For diagnostics of delayed encephalopathy in small laboratory animals exposure to metal mercury vapours is carried out. Results in dynamics of postcontact period are registered twice: 1st term immediately after end of exposure to metal mercury vapours, 2nd term - after 9 weeks. Indices are fixed in animals: quantity and duration of acts "burrow", position with support, grooming, time of remaining on rotating rod, number of animals attacking stranger. If in 2nd term of examination number of acts "burrow" demonstrates 22% increase in comparison with control group, duration of acts "burrow" - over 45%, number of animals, performing act position with support - over 40%; if duration of grooming acts increases 4.5 times and more, number of animals attacking stranger - 1.9 times and more, time of remaining on rotating rod -2.5 times and more, delayed toxic encephalopathy is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method allows to evaluate delayed effects of experimental toxic encephalopathy, maximally approaching them to diagnostic criteria, used in people for verification of toxic encephalopathy in delayed period.
