FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the proppants of average density proppants-aluminosilicate proppants, which can be used in production of liquid and fluid gaseous media from boreholes during hydraulic fracturing of the formation in rocks adjacent to the borehole. Disclosed is a method of producing proppant, which includes preparation of charge, crushing, preliminary annealing, final screening. Initial material used is a mixture in form of a mixture of bauxites, such as kaolinite clays of Iksinsky deposit of low-sulfur content with the following ratio of components, wt. % SiO2 18–30, Fe2O3 3–25, Al2O3 44–73, TiO2 2.5–4.5, total sum of metal oxides CaO + MgO + Na2O + K2O is not more than 3, 0; other admixtures not more than 5.0; microimpurities - the rest and ferruginous bauxites with following ratio of components, wt. %: SiO2 8–38, Fe2O3 17–40, Al2O3 38–57, TiO2 2–4, total sum of metal oxides CaO + MgO + N2O + K2O is not more than 1.0, rest impurities of not more than 3.0, microimpurities - the rest. Content of said kaolinite clay and ferruginous bauxite in the charge is not less than 85 % and not more than 15 %, respectively. Prepared mixture is pre-dried from physical moisture and crushed by crushing to obtain charge size of not more than 80 mm, subjecting to dehydration at temperature of 750–1100 °C to obtain water absorption of 28–37 %; binder is added in amount of 0.5–4.0 % of the charge weight, after which it is ground to dust with particle size of not more than 45 mcm. Water is added to the produced dust, granulated and dried. Raw granules are subjected to screening to extract the required fraction. After baking, the required fraction is also extracted.

EFFECT: technical result of invention is high strength of burnt granules using bauxite raw material with low content of alumina.
