FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: in production method of proppant, which includes preparation of source aluminosilicate raw material, its grinding with sintering additive, batch pelletising in a mixer-granulator with adding 3% water solution of organic binder, drying, burning and sieving of calcined granules, ferromanganese and/or silicomanganese in total amount of 0.1-7.0 wt % of weight of source aluminosilicate raw material with ferromanganese:silicomanganese mass ratio equal to (0-1.0):(1.0-0) are used as the specified sintering additive. Proppant used at oil and gas production by hydraulic fracturing method is produced in form of granules with pycnometric specific gravity of 1.8-3.2 g/cm3 and size of 0.2-4.0 mm from mixture of source aluminosilicate raw material, 3% water solution of organic binder and sintering additive, where ferromanganese and/or silicomanganese in total amount of 0.1-7.0 wt % of weight of source aluminosilicate raw material with ferromanganese:silicomanganese mass ratio equal to (0-1.0):(1.0-0) are used as sintering additive.
EFFECT: reduction of density of sintered ceramic proppants with their strength retention.
