SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recycling technology and can be used in recycling a large object with a nuclear power unit. Spent nuclear fuel is unloaded from the reactor, the bulkhead is cut and part of the equipment is unloaded. Further, the object is mounted on a pontoon dock, a technical cut is made on part of the hull side of the object, a special pull-out device is fitted to the technical cut, a reactor block is made, a ballast is attached to the object and the reactor block is removed through the technical opening in the hull side of the object using the pull-out device. After that the reactor block is prepared for prolonged storage and the object is recycled using a method set by the recycling project.

EFFECT: use of the invention reduces recycling expenses, prevents the need for sealing the reactor block before its removal, simplifies strapping and lifting works.
