FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method and device use a screen surrounding a coil placed around a connecting device in a device for switching off electrical power. A capacitive voltage divider has a low-voltage arm made from one or more capacitors. Capacitors of the low-voltage arm can be removed in order to control output of the capacitive voltage divider. The output value of the voltage divider is measured, converted and displayed to the user.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring potential across a device for switching off electrical power.
