FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: injector comprises: a front cone containing a heating chamber; biodegradable or bioeroded solid dosage form inserted in the heating chamber; a needle connected by a fluid channel to the heating chamber; a piston assembly comprising a rod at least partially located in the heating chamber; and the heating unit located on the front cone. The melting temperature of the dosage form is 40°C to 80°C. The heating unit enables heating of the front cone and the heating chamber to cause transition of the dosage form from solid to liquid condition, and the front cone transfers enough heat to the needle to prevent the return of the dosage form from the liquid to solid condition in a needle. Application of the given invention allows using the dosage forms with the melting temperature within 40°C to 80°C.
EFFECT: possibility of eye injection of the dosage forms through a small needle where they harden and eroded eventually for drug release.
