FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic synthesis and can be used in metallurgical industry, production of instruments and catalysis. The drum of a planetary mill is loaded with tungsten oxide WO3 with carbon material in form of graphite or anthracite or activated coal or soot or carbon xerogel or carbon nanofibre or carbon fibre from polyacrylonitrile or any mixture thereof. The mixture is subjected to mechanochemical activation in the presence of reducing metals in form of calcium or magnesium or aluminium or titanium or zirconium or manganese or zinc or any mixture thereof. In order to remove impurities of reducing metals and iron metal, the obtained materials are treated with acid or alkali solutions. X-ray phase analysis is carried out.
EFFECT: invention enables synthesis of nanosized tungsten carbides with low energy consumption and short synthesis time.
