FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of verifying a control system, counting and sorting machines (CSM) are designed to store serial numbers of counted banknotes. The banknotes are verified through recounting by comparing the current serial number of the banknote with serial numbers of banknotes already counted. If the serial number of the current banknote is found amount numbers of banknotes already counted, that banknote is identified as counted. Banknotes identified as already counted are sent to a return pocket and are not considered in the overall count.
EFFECT: prevention of errors in counting cash in counting and sorting machines with notification of the operator on the error in the counting process.
