FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to measure signals of partial discharges (PD) in electrical insulation of three-phase high voltage devices under operating voltage in order to detect defects in the insulation. The sensor-receiver of partial discharge signals used is the active part of the three-phase high voltage device. The partial discharge signals are measured simultaneously on all three phases of the high voltage device at the common point of the active part of that device using low voltage measuring transformers connected in an open delta connection.
EFFECT: increased signals, possibility of reliable detection of a partial discharge signal on the level of interference from operation of a high voltage installation.
