FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in compliance with proposed method, phase difference of signals reflected from object and reference reflector arranged nearby said object is determined. Unknown steps of reference reflector phases are defined via phase difference of signals reflected from master and reference reflectors and know function of reference reflector phase steps. Phase runaway caused by object and reference reflector motion is compensated with the help of measured and predicted ranges.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of determining phases of complex ebvelopes of signals reflected from object.
