SUBSTANCE: invention refers to cobalamin derivatives of the formula , where R^b means spacer chelating group of the formula , where n is 2, 3 or 4; R^c, R^d, R^e and R^R denote hydrogen, and X is cyano; or where R^d indicates spacer chelating group of the formula , where n is 3; R^b, R^c, R^e, and R^R denote hydrogen, and X is cyano, or where R^b indicates spacer chelating group of the formula , where n is equal to 2; R^c, R^d, R^e and R^R denote hydrogen, and X is cyano. These compounds are accumulated to a much lesser extent in blood and non-malignant organs such as kidneys and liver, compared with the rate of accumulation in neoplastic tissues, and moreover they are quickly removed from blood. The invention also refers to injectable pharmaceutical composition for diagnosis of tumors including cobalamin derivative carrying a radioactive metal atom. In addition, the invention refers to diagnosis of tumors in mammals, including (a) compliance vitamin B12-free diet for mammals predisposed to neoplastic disease, (b) subsequent administration of cobalamin derivative carrying a radioactive metal atom. The invention also refers to use of cobalamin derivative carrying a radioactive metal atom, in method of diagnosis of tumors in mammals and to obtain pharmaceutical composition designed for use in method of diagnosis of neoplastic diseases in mammals.
