FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in treating surface of metal material with compression plasma flows in medium of working gas, in applying layers of alloying elements with vacuum-arc sedimentation and in treating each layer with compression plasma flows. Metal material and each layer of alloying element are treated with compression plasma flows at power density 5-60 J/cm2, and duration of charge 50-250 mcs.
EFFECT: production of one and multi-element alloyed layers, increased micro-hardness and reduced friction ratio of surface layer of item.
