FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials for storing ammonia. The invention discloses solid material for storing and supplying ammonia, which contains a chemical complex in form of an ionic salt of general formula Ma(NH3)nXz, where M is one or more cations selected from alkali metals such as Li, Na, K or Cs, alkali-earth metals such as Mg, Ca or Sr, aluminium and transition metals such as V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu or Zn or their combinations, such as NaAl, KAl, K2Zn, CsCu or K2Fe, X is one or more anions selected from fluoride, chloride, bromide, iodide, nitrate, thiocyanate, sulphate, molybdate and phosphate ions; a is the number of cations per salt molecule; z is the number of anions per salt molecule and n is a coordination number from 2 to 12, where the said material is packed to density of over 75% of the theoretical true density.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain solid material for storing ammonia, which is easy to obtain and handle, and has high specific content of stored ammonia which is released under controlled conditions, storage material is safe during storage and transportation of ammonia without special safety measures.
