FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to storage of ammonia in solid material. Described is a method of controlling the value of mechanical forces applied by solid material for storage of ammonia to walls of a container containing material for storage in its inner volume, when storage material is subjected to saturation/re-saturation with ammonia inside said storage container, said method comprising: a. use of dependence between i. temperature for the process of saturation/re-saturation with ammonia in the material for storage, then TSAT, as well as the density of the material for ammonia completely saturated with ammonia, then—DMAT, and ii. hydraulic pressure PMAT or equivalent mechanical force FMAT, created by material for storage during saturation/re-saturation at said temperature TSAT and said density DMAT, for determination of minimum temperature, then—TSATMIN, saturation/re-saturation process, wherein said relationship is obtained using an experimental comparison procedure, in which experimental data are obtained, or by computer simulation, b. saturation/re-saturation process at temperature TSAT, when condition TSAT≥TSATMIN, so that PMAT or FMAT, applied by material for storage, have values below mechanical strength limit in terms of hydraulic pressure PLIMIT or hydraulic force FLIMIT container in inner volume, at which container walls do not undergo plastic deformation or do not undergo deformation of more than 200 % of deformation at point of yield point of container walls. Method for calculating a container for accommodating solid ammonia and container are also described.
