FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a method of producing geminal dihydroperoxides with output of up to 97%, which is catalysed by acids from reactions of ketones with hydrogen peroxide to form lower aliphatic alcohols as the main solvent, which enable to stabilise geminal dihydroperoxides during synthesis and extraction steps. In accordance with the invention, a lower (C1-C6) aliphatic alcohol is first added to an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, followed by a catalyst and then a ketone under conditions for creation of phase compatibility of the reagents. Hydrogen peroxide is taken in excess relative to the ketone. The method can be easily scaled and can be used for industrial production.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining analytically pure samples of known geminal dihydroperoxides with higher output, and obtaining those geminal dihydroperoxides which earlier could not be produced using existing methods of producing this group of chemical substances.
