FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: ICE exhaust duct accommodates NOx-selective reducing catalyst 15. Urea water solution contained in tank 20 is fed into NOx-selective reducing catalyst 15 to for NOx-selective reduction to be performed. Opening and closing of urea water solution inlet 40 is detected to determine if tank 20 is refilled with said water solution. In case the degree of cleaning of NOx falls to tolerable level or below it in engine operation, tight after refilling tank 20 its is defined that added urea water solution does not comply with specifications.

EFFECT: cheap and reliable method of determining urea water solution compliance with specifications.
