FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine consists of gas discharge vacuum chambers, work medium feed line and pulse power supply. Vacuum chambers are filled with work medium. Chamber housing makes an electrode. Power supply is connected with chamber housing and, via discharger, with disk-type anode. Anodes of all chambers are connected via inductors with one pulse power supply. Synchronised discharger is arranged between discharger outlet and chamber housing. Proposed method consists in generating plasma discharge in communicates openings of vacuum chambers. Plasma-focus-type discharge is generated in all chambers simultaneously with generation of plasma magnetic traps and charged particle flows are directed through central bores in face walls of end chambers.
EFFECT: adjustment of thermonuclear burn to generate directed reactive flow of charged particles that feature high specific pulse.
