FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: X-ray spectrometre which is placed in a protective chamber has gamma- or X-ray source, a specimen holder, a radiation detector with a collimator directed on the specimen, recording apparatus whose input is connected to the output of the detector, a secondary target in form of part of a sphere in whose diametrically opposite points the source and detector lie, a partition with a through slit whose axis passes through the source, where the partition lies between the secondary target and the specimen holder with possibility of transmitting radiation of the secondary target to the specimen through its slit, and the specimen holder is made with possibility of putting the specimen on the circle of the section of the sphere with a plane which passes through the detector perpendicular to the axis of the slit. The spectrometre also has main and auxiliary devices for changing samples and a device for changing the target. There is a set of specimen holders in the main device for changing samples. The auxiliary device for changing samples also has specimen holders and is designed for illuminating samples with radiation from the target mounted on the main device for changing samples. There is another collimator between the devices for changing samples.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the spectrometre.
