FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: in pre-operation period presence of the following parametres is determined: age under 50 years, living in zone of goiter endemia, affection of both lobes of thyroid gland; ultrasonic examination is performed to detect presence of perinodular changes in thyroidal tissue; cytologic analysis is carried out to detect presence of autoimmune thyroiditis, multinodular colloidal goitre; supposed volume of operation is determined - maximal subtotal resection of thyroid gland, subtotal resection of thyroid gland. After that values of classifying functions Y1 and Y2 are determined. If Y2 value is larger than Y1, there is risk of post-operation recurrence of multinodular goitre, if Y1 value is larger than Y2 there is no risk of post-operation recurrence of multinodular goitre.
EFFECT: method allows to realise prediction of multinodular goitre recurrence in pre-operation period in order to choose adequate volume of surgical operation on thyroid gland in patients with multinodular goitre.
