FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method includes transfer of high-frequency signal along power transmission line from the line beginning to the line end, and monitoring parametre related to change of high-frequency signal distribution along section of wire as glase appears. Method feature is the fact that section of wire is limited by two PLC modems, control parametre is accepted as time of high-frequency signal distribution from the beginning of limited wire section to its end, average value of this wire section temperature is detected, and glase appearance is confirmed by change in time of high-frequency signal distribution caused by glase, with account of effect from temperature change of wire section length at controlled parametre.
EFFECT: improved reliability of glase detection, which will make it possible to arrange preventive heating of wires and to reduce probability of accidents.
