ILLUMINATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC F21V31/03

Abstract RU 2399835 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: illumination device has a pentagonal or hexagonal prism shaped housing, lateral walls made from light-emitting diode plates and the end walls are perforated, where the size and configuration of the holes meet the condition for optimum convectional change of air heated inside the housing, and with surrounding space. The device also has a transparent cover which is sealed with calculated clearance to the housing from the outside, thereby forming an outer prism such that outside air does not fall inside the outer prism. The cover is attached to one of the end walls and its edge enters the groove of the second end wall. There is also a unit for fastening to a support on the housing.

EFFECT: longer service life with high quality of light flux, owing to conditions which provide optimum temperature and light operation mode of the illumination device.
