FLOW THERMOELECTRIC DEVICE FOR CONTRAST THERMAL EFFECT ON HUMAN EYE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61F9/00 A61F7/00

Abstract RU 2400189 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: said device comprises a contact head made of a material characterised by high thermal conduction and shaped into the patient's eyeball, a temperature variation system of the contact head comprising a thermoelectric module, and an automation system represented by a temperature control and adjustment unit. A master liquid cooler wherein a compressor supplies a cooling medium is being in thermal contact with the first junction of the thermoelectric module, and the cooling medium delivered from the master liquid cooler is supplied through a packing to a supply canal of a heating conduit, whence goes to a ring-shaped channel formed in an operating head, representing a rigid contact lens made of polymethyl methacrylate. After the ring-shaped channel, the cooling medium is delivered to an outlet canal of the heating conduit representing two soldered flexible silicon tubes wherefrom the cooling medium is supplied to a reference liquid cooler, whence - to a heat exchanger. Thereafter, the cooling medium is delivered to a medium container and then to the compressor in a closed circuit. Herewith, the compressor is connected with the temperature adjustment unit, and the latter is connected with the heat exchanger by flexible tubes through a connecting pipe, and the heating conduit is attached to the temperature adjustment unit by a lock nut, and exposure temperature is controlled by the control unit with using a temperature sensor.

EFFECT: application of said device allows extending the range of thermoelectric devices for contrast thermal effect on human eye.
