FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to non-ferrous metallurgy and can be implemented for preparing carnallite to electrolysis. Solid dehydrated carnallite is charged at melting stage; additionally, there is supplied melted magnesium chloride at weight ratio of dehydrated carnallite to magnesium chloride 1:(0.4-0.7). Rate of supply of solid dehydrated carnallite is lowered during charge of melted magnesium chloride. Produced mixture of melted magnesium chloride and dehydrated carnallite is supplied to the stage of chlorination, mixed with chlorine containing gas and settled; finished product is unloaded and supplied to electrolysis.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption.
