FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for the production of modified silica gels, which are used as sorption materials, catalyst carriers, materials for the immobilization of biologically active compounds, including enzymes, phases for various types of chromatography, heterogeneous reagents and intermediates for the synthesis of materials for solid-phase extraction. A method for functionalization of the surface of silica gel with aldehyde groups is proposed by reacting a pre-functionalized silica gel – 3-chloropropyl-silica gel with a compound containing an aldehyde group – hydroxybenzaldehyde in an organic solvent in the presence of an equimolar amount of base and sodium iodide and heating at 80°C for 12 hours.
EFFECT: technical result is an expansion of the range of silica gels with a covalently immobilized aldehyde group used as multi-purpose solid-phase materials.
