SUBSTANCE: lightning guard device of overhead power transmission line comprises support with insulating cross-beam, to which wire is fixed, and lightning protection element, at the same time insulating cross beam is made of single supporting insulator, which perceives stretching loads, and single support insulator, which perceives compressing loads, and wire is fixed to the point of their connection. Besides with its other end supporting insulator is fixed to support over point where another end of supporting insulator is fixed to this support, and suspended or support insulator is arranged in the form of overvoltage limiter, which has length equal to length of support insulator, and in its cavity unit of varistors occupies part of its inner length, other part of which is an insulator that separates overvoltage limiter from operating voltage of overhead power transmission line, at the same time unit of varistors has electric terminals pulled from the point of varistor unit end outside to electrode of air spark gap, the second electrode of which is screen, or wire or elements of wire fixation on insulating cross beam.

EFFECT: simplified design and improved lighting protection of overhead transmission line.
