SUBSTANCE: lightning guard device of overhead power transmission line comprises support with insulating cross-beam, to which wire is fixed, and lightning protection element, at the same time insulating cross beam is made of single supporting insulator, which perceives stretching loads, and single support insulator, which perceives compressing loads, and wire is fixed to the point of their connection, besides with its other end supporting insulator is fixed to support over point where another end of supporting insulator is fixed to this support, and supporting insulator is arranged in the form of serially connected overvoltage limiter with air spark gap formed through application of electrode pulled towards wire and insulator. At the same time the second electrode of spark gap is screen, or wire or elements of wire fixation on insulating cross beam.

EFFECT: simplified design with insulating cross beams and improved lighting protection of overhead transmission line.
