FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: coupled rotors are made in the form of a pair of elliptical pinions engaged in mutually perpendicular direction. Each elliptical pinion along the pitch line consists of two osculating circuits and envelope curves representing arches. Circles have radius r1 determined by the formula: where h - centre-to-centre distance between elliptical pinions, r - radius of osculating circles the centres of which are in the same line as the centres of circles with radius r1, at that, r =rb/2, where rb - major semiaxis of elliptical pinion. Arches have radius R1 determined by the formula: where e=h-3r - height between arch and tangent line to two osculating circles in elliptical pinion. Minor semiaxis of elliptical pinion is rm=r+e.
EFFECT: eliminating jamming and breaks within the whole contact range, and increase of efficiency.
