FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for realising said method has a source of pulsed pumping radiation, a source of the amplified pulsed radiation and a crystalline combination active element. The pumping pulse used is a femtosecond pulse which is transmitted to the crystalline combination active element having not less than two spectrally separated combination active frequencies. Said combination active element enables amplification in the continuous frequency band covering all the said combination active frequencies. The amplification frequency band can be varied in the entire transparency band of the combination active element by varying the frequency of the pumping pulse.
EFFECT: possibility of amplifying femtosecond pulses on the stimulated Raman scattering effect in a solid state body, possibility of amplifying pulses with duration shorter than duration of the pumping pulses.
