FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises calculating cooling conditions required to cool down steel sheet to preset temperature for multiple positions inside cooler, proceeding from temperatures measured during thick steel sheet passes through cooler by thermometre arranged on the side of cooler inlet, and setting cooling conditions. It comprises also calculation of heat transfer factor proceeding from preset temperature and flow rate density of water cooling the furnace bottom. It comprises also calculation of flow rate density of water cooling the furnace roof proceeding from heat transfer factor and control over cooling water amounts in the cooler proceeding from ratio between water flow ratio at the bottom and that at the roof so that allow cooling thick steel sheet to preset temperature of the end of cooling. Proposed device comprises appropriate equipment.
EFFECT: adequate control over cooling water amounts in cooling thick steel sheet.
