FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry and can be used in braking distance automatic detectors. In compliance with proposed method, transport facility speed is measured to determine the sign of acceleration. Negative acceleration is used to generated and memorise the "Braking Start" signal. Preset braking conditions are selected by depressing brake pedal. Then signals are sent to full braking distance indicator. Transport facility speed V1 in time t1 is determined that corresponds to aforesaid signal "Braking Start". Transport facility speed V2 in time t2=t1+Δt and braking distance S1 are determined by the expression Transport facility speed Vi in time ti=t1+Δt (i-1) and braking distance Si are determined by the expression while braking distance is used to select braking conditions. Proposed device comprises speedometre (1), computer (2) and total braking distance indicator (3) connected in series. Note here that second input of computer (2) is connected with output of constant braking distance setter (4).
EFFECT: determination of braking distance before braking termination, possibility to select braking conditions subject to actual conditions.
