FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to anti-oxidation protection of components made from porous material containing carbon, particularly made from composite carbon-carbon (C/C) material, and can be used in making brake pads used in the aviation industry. A component made from C/C material is protected by impregnation with a composition dissolved in an aqueous medium and containing at least one phosphorus-containing compound, elementary titanium, boron or a boron-containing compound different from titanium boride. In the presence of oxygen and at least one alkali or alkali-earth element M, which is a carbon oxidation catalyst, said composition forms at least one association of the type P-O-Ti-M, which bonds with boron oxide and entraps the element M. Element M in form of a salt of an alkali or alkali-earth metal can be a component of the impregnating composition. Before impregnation with the protective composition, the component is pre-treated with a solution which contains a surfactant.
EFFECT: method provides efficient protection of components made from composite material from oxidation in the presence of moisture, carbon oxidation catalysts and high temperature.
