FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to paediatrics and immunology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of acute and chronic clinical course of infectious mononucleosis in children. For this purpose, content of malonic dialdehyde in blood serum is determined. At content of malonic dialdehyde in blood serum, equal to 3.3 mcmol/l or higher, acute course of infectious mononucleosis is diagnosed. At content of malonic dialdehyde below 3.3 mcmol/l, chronic course is diagnosed.
EFFECT: use of given method enables to differentiate acute and chronic infectious mononucleosis in children that provides timely change of therapeutic approach to patient.
