FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: there is determined number of teeth and gear installed on hub of disk is rotated at a constant angular speed for time of its one complete revolution. Thickness of gear teeth is measured by means of a laser triangulable sensor. The laser sensor measures distances to gear in equal time intervals. The time coordinate is converted into the angular coordinate of a revolution using the gear proper, whereupon thickness Sn of gear tooth is calculated.
EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of measurement of gear teeth thickness.
